★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Atakum İlçe Müftülüğü 2008 yılında “Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sınırları İçerisinde İlçe Kurulması ve Bazı Kanunlarda Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun”la Atakum’un İlçe olmasıyla kurulmuştur. Temsil etmekle görevli olduğu Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığıyla paralel bir misyona sahiptir. Buna göre Atakum İlçe Müftülüğü toplumun dinî ihtiyaç ve beklentilerine cevap vermek amacıyla İslam Dini’nin temel kaynaklarına dayalı doğru ve güncel bilgi ile toplumu din konusunda aydınlatmak, inanç, ibadet ve ahlak esasları ile ilgili işleri yürütmek ve ibadet yerlerini yönetmekle sorumlu bir kurumdur.
Bütün siyasi görüş ve düşünüşlerin dışında kalarak ve milletçe dayanışma ve bütünleşmeyi amaç edinerek (Anayasa md. 136), İslam Dini'nin inanç, ibadet ve ahlak esasları ile ilgili işleri yürütmek, din konusunda toplumu aydınlatmak ve ibadet yerlerini yönetmek. (633 S.K. md.1). Toplumu din konusunda aydınlatırken dinin iki temel kaynağı olan Kur'an ve Sünnete dayalı sağlam bilgiyi esas almak, Müslümanların 14 asırlık dinî tecrübesini göz önünde bulundurmak, modern hayatı ve insanlığın ortak birikimini de göz ardı etmemek.Din konusunda mezhep, anlayış ve uygulama ayrımı yapmadan vatandaşlık esasına göre hizmet sunmak.Sürekli bilgi üretmek, bilgiyi toplumla paylaşmak ve güncel sorunlar hakkında yerinde ve zamanında açıklama yapmak.Engelli, kimsesiz, yaşlı, yoksul, hükümlü ve tutuklu gibi ilgi ve desteğe muhtaç vatandaşlarımızın yanında olmayı din hizmetinin ayrılmaz bir parçası kabul etmek.İslâm'ın itikadî ve amelî ilkelerini özümsemiş, eğitim ve kültür seviyeleri yüksek, kendisiyle ve toplumla barışık, beşerî ilişkilerde topluma öncü, muhatabını anlayan ve dinî sorunlarına pratik çözümler üretebilen, dinî ve ilmî verileri birlikte kullanabilen, söz ve davranışlarıyla örnek bir hayat sergileyebilen din görevlilerine sahip olmak.
İlçemiz Müftülüğü bünyesinde hali hazırda 114 adet cami, 24 adet Kur’an kursu bulunmaktadır.
 Atakum District Mufti was established in 2008 with the "Law on Establishing a District Within the Borders of the Metropolitan Municipality and Making Amendments to Some Laws" with Atakum becoming a District. It has a parallel mission with the Directorate of Religious Affairs, which it is tasked to represent. Accordingly, Atakum District Mufti is an institution responsible for enlightening the society about religion with accurate and up-to-date information based on the basic resources of the Islamic Religion, conducting works related to belief, worship and moral principles and managing places of worship in order to respond to the religious needs and expectations of the society.
By staying out of all political views and thoughts and aiming at national solidarity and integration (Constitution art. 136), to carry out the works related to the belief, worship and moral principles of the religion of Islam, to enlighten the society on religion and to manage the places of worship. There are currently 114 mosques and 24 Quran courses within the body of the Mufti of our district.
