Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu was born on 25 October 1884 in Sivas. Smallpox, which caused the loss of his family's two daughters born before him, also struck Aşık Veysel and lost his left eye at the age of seven. Veysel, who lost his right eye as a result of an accident after his left eye, was introduced to music at a young age thanks to a bag that his father gave him as a gift. Aşık Veysel, who was educated by his father's friend Aşık Ala, learned the works of great folk poets such as Pir Sultan Abdal, Karacaoğlan and Dertli during this training. Veysel Şatıroğlu was left alone after the beginning of the First World War when everyone around him went to the front. During this period, the only friend he had trouble with was tying him up. Aşık Veysel, who gave himself to music well, was married to a girl named Esma after the war ended. They had two children from this marriage. He lost his son while his wife was with him, and his daughter after his wife left him. Ahmet Kutsi Tacer, who strives to ensure that folk literature has the value it deserves and that folk works are not lost, is the first person to write Aşık Veysel's works. Aşık Veysel, who started to work as an instrument teacher at Village Institutes with the invitation he received from Tacer, gave training in Arifiye, Çifteler, Kastamonu and Akpınar. In 1965, Turkey Grand National Assembly for its contribution to the music by itself was linked to salaries. Aşık Veysel passed away in Sivas, in his village Şarkışla, where he was born on 21 March 1973.
