There are lots of Greek and Roman statues to see here. There is a fantastic and rare bronze statue from ancient Greek times.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It has a great collection of antique ceramic belongings, marble statues of ancient Greek gods, 2 beautiful bronze statues, a wonderfully rich collection of golden and carved mineral accesories, coins.. A must see to have knowledge about the interesting history of Smyrna and the other 11 Ionian cities around the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great grounding introduction to all the actual locations you will go to nearby, the Agora, Efes, Pammulkle, Smyrna castle on top of the hill in Izmir (well worth the steep walk !) etc, etc.. Small entrance price includes ethnographic museum as well for all aspects of Turkish culture and it's vast history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Modest surface but with superb items at display. The sarcophagi located in the garden are such a jewel. Helpful and friendly personnel. The ethnographic section closed for renovations (October 2021).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice museum with many artefacts. There are a garden where you can see more statues and sarcophagi. The light inside, sometimes, didn't turn on, what makes a bit difficult to read or see the artefacts.
