Sultan Alparslan anadoluya seferlerinden önce Konyaya gönderdiği öncü dervişlerden kırk kadarını bizanslılar şehit edip burada bir çukura gömmüşler. bu mezarlığın ilk oluşumu bu şekilde gercekleştiği rivayet edilir. Bu çukur Cennet çukuru olarak halen mezarlığın içerisinde yeri bellidir.
Feel the peace. It's a reclusive place in the middle of the city. Its history goes back to before the conquest of Anatolia. Before the Anatolian expeditions, Sultan Alparslan martyred about forty of the pioneer dervishes he sent to Konya and buried them in a pit here. It is rumored that the first formation of this cemetery took place in this way. This pit is still located in the cemetery as the Heaven pit.
