S	SADIK BAYDERE on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dedicated to Apollon Lairbenos, the son of Zeus and the god of prophecy and fine arts, this interesting worshipping temple is believed to serve to local people living in Roman cities of Hierapolis, Laodikeia, Motella, Dionysopolis and Tripolis among others in the region covering Upper Meandros Basin and Lycos Valley. From the inscriptions, we understand that it is built in 2nd century AD during the reign of Hadrianus on an existing worshipping point for the Anatolian Mother Goddess Cybele. Overlooking to the valley of Meandros River on the edge of a windy hill, the temple is accepted to be a confession and penance payment location for citizens living in the region where their confessions and penances such as freeing their slaves etc are inscribed on stones by the stone carvers in place. About 4 to 5 km to the nearest village of Bahadinlar, a "must see" place if you are around Cal area in Denizli...
