Although the Elmali Museum may seem small, it is a very rich museum in terms of artifacts, and the tumulus of Karaburun is a completely different beauty. The museum is free of charge.

Çok özel buluntular olmasına rağmen, çağın gerisinde kalmış müzecilik anlayışı ile bu kadar oluyor.
Although there are very special finds, this is what happens with the understanding of museology that is behind the times.

Nice museum. Especially, neolotic ruins and graves was wonderfull. Crooccross was interesting and the structure for the honeys so good.

Great small town museum. The best part of this museum is how it shows the greater history of the area boyond what you'd see by just visiting the major sites. Most of what tourists can see in this region are the ruins of ancient Greco-Roman cities but there's a much older history here and this museum helps highlight it by displaying artefacts and with life size models of tombs and graves. Worth a quick visit for those wanting to dig deeper.

Phenomenal little museum in this cool village dedicated to some human bodies buried in a field ?⚰️? On the way into the little village of Elmali I stopped by a small archaeological site with my motorcycle which was fenced off... Surprisingly very securely fenced off ??? Some people might have jumped said fence to explore these ancient treasures buuuut we can neither confirm nor deny if these events actually happened at this point ?‍♂️ What we can confirm is the museum in the nearby village of Elmali is absolutely phenomenal and is basically dedicated to this quite large archaeological site that we had no idea was even such a big deal prior to our arrival and investigation! Back in the '60s and '70s there was a lot of excavation and preservation of this area when a farmer accidentally found some human bodies placed inside of a clay pots while working in his field after a heavy rain... Today we know there were hundreds of these pots containing human cadaivers ????????????? You know what I find is very interesting and also totally mind-blowing.... Down in Peru the ancient Inca people mummified and buried people the exact same way in almost the exact same size and shape clay pots. I'm not saying there's aliens out there or anything........ Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut there's definitely more than what meets the eye at first glance going on with this whole human existence we are currently experiencing ????‍♀️???
