★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Antakya'ya giderseniz gitmeniz gereken tarihi kiliselerin biridir. Kiliseye giden sokaklar çok tarihi arnavut kaldırım dar sokaklardan oluşuyor.
If you go to Antakya, it is one of the historical churches you should visit. The streets leading to the church consist of very historical cobblestone narrow streets.

The Antakya Türk Katolik Kilisesi Catholic Church, whose interest in Antakya never waned, was restored here in 1846 by the Capuchin monks after a 600-year hiatus. Pope IX The Basilica of Galli, from the religious region of Parma, was the first to come to Antakya at the request of Pius. Here he opened a church and a school for Christian children. Although he gained public sympathy, his pioneering work led to his murder on May 12, 1851.
It was replaced by French priests and a small monastery was built. In 1852 they received permission from the then Sultan to establish a Catholic Church in Antakya. The church was built a few years later.
Unfortunately there was no way to see the church from the inside.
We inspected the church door on August 27th, 2021 and described it in the "Travel Report Antiochia am Orontes / Hatay Part 88" and provided photos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This frame reflects the characteristics of the city; a cross on one side and the crecent on the other. You can visit the church without any charge if it's open. Because it's not a museum but a working old catholic church. See the sweet garden with bitter orange trees and go upstairs for a nice panorama.
