Very interesting ruins are in exhibit. 4-5 different well protected mummies were amazing. Definetly to go if you are in Amasya

Amasya's museum is well worth a visit. Notable exhibits includes the famous statue of Amasya, Abrams figure of the Hittite God Teshub with pointed cap and huge almond-shaped eyes; wooden doors taken from the Gök Medrese Camii showing the progression between Seljuk and Ottoman carving; and displays on Ottoman crafts such as rope-making. English signage a good throughout. The highlight though is the tiles Seljuk tomb in the garden which contains a unique collection of gruesome mummies dating from the ilkhan period. The bodies, mummified without removing the organs were discovered beneath the Burmalı Minare Cami. None of its for squeamish or young eyes but the remains of a baby girl disintegrated into 3 pieces, are particularly hard to look at

Incredible informative Museum. We really enjoyed the well preserved Mummies. It would of been nice to have an audio guide similar to that of the museum in Urfa. Travelers from Canada ???

You'll see original mummies from 14th century in this museum. Also, skulls from Neolithic era.

Good one if you are in Amasya. Personaly I do not like the mummies, but the rest similar to Corum.

There are a lot of nice things to see, both archeological and anthropological, but some of the English translations are terrible or missing. They are making a new museum so hopefully they'll fix the problems. Don't miss the mum's upstairs. Unfortunately there is no way for a handicap person to access the upstairs.

Brilliant and valuable pieces of artifacts, dating back to centuries, millennia and even fossils from 115 million years in a very plain presentation. A must see place. Well done to the curators.
