In fact, it was converted into a mosque from the bastion of the city wall. The Square Gate is the only place that has survived from the walls. In the 50s, there was only a narrow road between the Euphrates River and there are deaf arches. .It has a door. Its repair was made in 1997 by the Governorship of Şanlıurfa.

Kesme taşlardan inşa edilmiş olan Alaburç’un cephelerinde rozetler üzerinde İslami kitabeler ve at nalı şeklinde sağır kemerler yer almaktadır. Yuvarlak rozet kitabelerde “Mevlana sultan Melik-el Eşref Nasr Kayıtbay” yazılıdır. Burcun batıya bakan cephesinde bir kapısı bulunmaktadır.
It is the sign that belongs to the Meydan Gate of Birecik city walls. It lies to the southwest of the district. On the façades of Alaburç, which is built of cut stones, there are Islamic inscriptions and horseshoe-shaped deaf belts on badges. The inscriptions on the round rosettes indicate Eş Mevlana Sultan Melik-el Eşref Nasr Kayıtbay Y. There is a gate on the west facing facade of the sign.
