Tarihçe ve Faaliyet Alanları
Aksaray Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Niğde Üniversitesi’ne bağlı olarak 05.11.1999 tarih ve 23867 sayılı Resmi Gazete’de yayınlanan, 23.10.1999 tarih ve 99/13483 sayılı Bakanlar Kurulu kararı ile kurulmuştur. Aksaray Üniversitesi’nin kurulmasıyla birlikte 17 Mart 2006 tarihinde yayınlanan 5467 sayılı kanunun ek 64. maddesi ile değiştirilerek Aksaray Üniversitesi’ne bağlanmıştır. Başlangıcından bu yana sürekli gelişen fakülte, fiziki kapasitesi ve eğitim-öğretim kadrosu ile çağdaş eğitim-öğretimin öncüsü olma yolundadır.
Kurulduğu günden itibaren sürekli gelişen Fakültede şu an itibariyle Arkeoloji, Batı Dilleri ve Edebiyatları (İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı Lisans Programı), Biyoloji, Biyoteknoloji ve Moleküler Biyoloji, Felsefe, Fizik, Kimya, Matematik, Sosyoloji, Tarih ve Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümleri faaldir. Arkeoloji, Batı Dilleri ve Edebiyatları (İngiliz Dili ve Edebiyatı Lisans Programı), Biyoteknoloji ve Moleküler Biyoloji, Felsefe, Fizik ve Sosyoloji bölümlerimizde Normal Öğretim, Biyoloji, Kimya, Matematik, Tarih ve Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümlerinde ise hem Normal hem de İkinci Öğretim programları mevcuttur.
Faaliyetlerini Adana Yolu üzerinde 3 katlı Sabire Yazıcı binasında sürdüren Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, bünyesinde bulunan ve her biri alanında deneyimli öğretim elemanları ile öğrencilere salt bilgi vermenin dışında onlara düşünmeyi, konulara eleştirisel yönden bakmayı ve düşüncelerini eyleme geçirmeyi öğreten; entelektüel ve bilimsel bilgi sunmayı ve Atatürk’ün belirlediği çağdaş uygarlık yolunda ilerleyen yeni nesiller yetiştirmeyi kendisine misyon edinmiş bir öğretim kurumudur.

History and Fields of Activity
Aksaray University Faculty of Arts and Sciences was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 23.10.1999 and numbered 99/13483, published in the Official Gazette dated 05.11.1999 and numbered 23867, affiliated with Niğde University. With the establishment of Aksaray University, it was amended by the additional article 64 of the law numbered 5467 published on 17 March 2006 and connected to Aksaray University. The faculty, which has been constantly developing since its inception, is on the way to becoming the pioneer of modern education with its physical capacity and teaching-teaching staff.
Archeology, Western Languages and Literatures (Undergraduate Program in English Language and Literature), Biology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Philosophy, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Sociology, History and Turkish Language and Literature departments are currently active in the Faculty, which has been continuously developing since its establishment. In our departments of Archeology, Western Languages and Literatures (English Language and Literature Undergraduate Program), Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, Philosophy, Physics and Sociology, Normal Education, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, History and Turkish Language and Literature Departments both Normal and Evening Education programs. available.
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, which continues its activities in the Sabire Yazıcı building of 3 floors on Adana Road, teaches students to think, to look at the issues critically and to put their thoughts into action with its faculty members, each of whom is experienced in their field. It is an educational institution that has adopted the mission of providing intellectual and scientific knowledge and raising new generations on the path of contemporary civilization determined by Atatürk.
