Akkan Beach Hotel

This hotel literally occupied the territory of public beach in Kumbahce area, which was always only for public. Now they put their sunbeds and saying that they "rented" this area and you have to pay money to stay there.

Cold welcoming. Room wasn't cleaned at check-in in the late afternoon. Balcony door was broken (couldn't change the room). Staff wasn't really motivated to help. No isolation. Could hear the room neighbors making love. Poor breakfast. All in all overpriced, you could get much better in turkey!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Every day room cleaning. Breakfast with many options, and amazing beach front of the hotel. Staff was very friendly, prices was so cheap. Great big rooms. Highly recommending.

Stopped at that hotel for two days with family. The suit rooms were perfect, I recommend to get them because they are located on the last floor and you have the acces to look through the window and see sea. Window view is mind-blowing. Staff is kind and helpful and knows our hometown language with was pleasantly surprising. One thing to mention is that it is not allowed to park your car near beach or you may be got evacuated at night (based on personal experience), but it's not a big case because they have their own parking place near.

The hotel is located on an ideal clear water beach with hotel owned beach spot with beautiful views of the Bodrum Castle and the Marmara sea. Rooms are average of a two or three stars hotel but the bathrooms had spilling of water. Staff is good but doesn’t go the extra mile. Restaurant is on beach front with spectacular views. Free buffet breakfast is very good but lunch and dinner menu is comparatively expensive.

Wow , seriously our luck with finding good hotels is usually not very good which is why I am so compelled to write a review about this spot. This hotel is everything we were looking for . Nice and quite and convenient for kids but yet Romantic. The view is unbelievable with the ocean right at your doorstep . The room is super clean and trendy and so is the gorgeous pool. The staff are extremely kind and caring and the breakfast is absolutely unbelievable. I will without a doubt be recommending this hotel to many many friends. This is the perfect spot in Bodrum and when we come back we will definitely be staying here again :)

We have really appreciated this hostel due to different reason. First, we have to know that the hostel has not a lot of activities in it and for me it’s sometimes useless if you want to take benefit on the city. The hostel has one pool enough big to swim in it and it doesn’t contain any chemical product (big advantage) if you are sensitive on. We are at 5 minutes by walk to the downtown that’s make an advantage and 15 min for bus to get in other places such as Gumbet, Yalikavak,… The landscape we have from the terrasse is the seaside of the overall city. The personals are so kind and help you as you need to (call taxi, laundries, information,…)

First I want to say that hotels.com (where I booked) wouldn't let me post this review (see picture) because they want to keep their ratings high. The below mentioned review is 100% true. Room Our room was an ex-smoking room which we could smell as soon as we stepped in. The furniture, bed, curtains, everything smelled like 20 years of smoking. Although all the rooms are non smoking, there are no smoke detectors, so our neighbors were still smoking in the room. The bed was crooked on one side so I almost fell out everyone I turned. Also the room under the bed was stuffed with bags of old electric cables and rags. We couldn't use the AC because it was smelling like mold and cigarette buds. Cleanliness The whole hotel is not very clean. It seems like the cleaning crew is understaffed. We had dust everywhere, fresh pee stains on the toilet and used tissues under the bed. Staff The manager at the reception was friendly first but turned bitter when I complained about the rooms condition. When I said that we couldn't use the AC because it smells like something died in it, he replied that it cannot be because the unit was brand new. He didn't make the effort to come to the room and smell on his own. Basically called us liars. Food The breakfast was included, but it was not good. It was the cheapest of the cheapest and nothing tasted well. Meze from the evenings before got repacked and served at breakfast. Also here, everybody was smoking near us. Beach The beach is small but actually quite nice, except for the big guy who is somehow an acquitance of the hotel and blasts loud music from his bad speaker. Overall bad experience and rude manager.
