From Kayaköy, follow the guiding signs for both the beach and afkule by ship and return to the forest from Asgard Camping (signposts are also available). Even though the road is a bit rough, you can go carefully and park at the end of the road. Afterwards, you can walk for 15 minutes from the path and reach the hill. You can go down from the Afkule sign and see the ruins carved into the rock. The view is magnificent but you have to be careful on the stairs. You can go as a family, but you have to be very careful in the ruins. There is also a walking path to Gemiler Bay from here. (6 km) A very interesting place, a bit of a hassle but well worth a visit.

For me it was very spiritual place. Perfect sunset view point. I cannot describe my feelings in words over there.

Said to be built by a monk called Ayios Elefterios in 11th century on these steep rocks to worship God far from eyes, overlooking to breathtaking sea views, even possible to see Rhodes island in clear wheather, the monestry is close to Kayaköy and Gemiler Bay. Meaning Tower of Forgiveness in Turkish, Afkule consists of a ruined two floor monestry, buildings of the followers built later after his death and a small chapel down below. Must see place if you are in Fethiye and around...

A long and boring walk from Kayakoy, but a rewarding sight at the end.

The hike at sunset was one of the most beautiful things we did in Turkey. I had to come back and give a review. Take this as a calling to come here.

The trek was challenging but the view was absolutely worth it. Make sure to visit it if you’re ever in kayaköy.

Absolutely amazing and stunning place. The manastry is a bit difficult to find. Once you are "there" at the old ruins you still need to climb down the hill a little to find it. Take good shoes and also water with you. It is a bit rough.
