Cumhuriyet döneminde kurulan dört şeker fabrikasından sonra (Uşak, Alpullu, Turhal, Eskişehir) kurulan beşinci fabrikadır. Türkiye de Anonim şirket statüsünde kurulan ilk şeker fabrikasıdır.
The foundation of the factory was laid on September 12, 1952; It was commissioned on October 11, 1953 and started sugar production. It is the fifth factory established after four sugar factories (Uşak, Alpullu, Turhal, Eskişehir) established during the Republican period. Turkey also is the first sugar factory was established in a joint stock company status.
