Our park is one of the green areas left intentionally among the high-rise and relatively low sites. There is a bust of Hasan Ali Yúcel in a corner. Right next to it, there is a concert hall with several steps like an amphitheater-like odeon. Now I'm wondering, has it ever been used for this purpose since Batikent became Batikent? Since the park is built on a hilly land, it has two levels of terraces. On the top floor, there is a children's playground, a rarely seen type of basketball court surrounded by wire, and gazebos with a well-made floor. Except for those who bring their children to the playground on weekends, there are few retired regulars who use sports equipment and enjoy the park. Mostly, the children coming out of the high schools in the vicinity use the park as the last gathering place of the community before they disperse to their homes. They break the paving stones on the walls and the marbles on the pedestal of the statue. It's a shame! It is a place where groups of boys and girls gather and have fun until late in the summer and spring nights.
